Google

Google has evolved into much more than just a search engine; it now offers a wide range of services, including its very own operating system and driverless cars. You might not be aware of this, but the term "Google" was added to the Oxford Dictionary in 2006.

Now that you are familiar with Google, let's examine its past:

Google was founded in March 1996 as a research endeavour by Stanford University PhD candidates Larry Page and Sergey Brin. They intended to develop a search engine that gave relevancy more weight than how frequently a search term appeared on a page. The search engine's initial landing page was the website google.stanford.edu, which was later registered as google.com on September 15, 1997.

At first google search engine was named as “Backrub” but later they changed it to google.

why google named google?

The name google came from googol well actually googol represents 10 to the power of 100 that is a one followed by a hundred zeros by using this they wanted to represent the large amount of data that googol could deliver to the user but accidentally they misspelled it and wrote google and the website was since then registered as google.com
